Coventry and Warwickshire Celebrate Local Community Heroes

The Make a Difference Awards 2026 recognized eight outstanding individuals for their contributions to community service in Coventry and Warwickshire, UK. Winnie, a therapy dog, received the Animal Award for her work providing comfort to residents in over 100 dementia care homes across Coventry and Warwickshire. Other noteworthy winners include Eleri, who received the Young Hero Award for her charitable initiatives at just seven years old, and Mick Lagbir Singh, who was honored with the Great Neighbour Award for his extensive support of isolated individuals in his community. The awards also recognized Ron Harkness for his long-standing commitment to coaching boxing and Martina Irwin for her environmental conservation efforts.
