The Archaeological Park at the UNESCO World Heritage site Haithabu-Danewerk in Dannewerk, Germany, has partially reopened as of mid-October 2026. This reopening follows years of planning and construction focused on enhancing the visitor experience. The redesigned park now features new pathways around the Waldemarsmauer and Schanze 14, as well as a Corten steel bridge that connects the main route to the Waldemarsmauer. This development represents a significant milestone in the park's renovations, allowing visitors to gain fresh perspectives on the historical fortifications. While the park is now accessible, additional improvements are still in progress, including a lookout platform and installations known as "windows to the past," which are expected to be completed in the coming months.
