Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Simple Energy has successfully raised ₹1,750 crore (approximately $180 million) through an all-equity Series C funding round that concluded on September 30, 2026. This round was led by the Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani Family Office, with contributions from key stakeholders including Founder and CEO Suhas Rajkumar, Co-founder and CFO Ankit Gupta, and notable Bengaluru-based high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) such as Amit Mishra and the Haran Family Office. This significant funding round marks the largest in the company’s history, bringing its total capital raised to over ₹2,530 crore, underscoring the growing investor confidence in Simple Energy's potential within the electric vehicle market.

Founded in 2019, Simple Energy has concentrated on developing its own technology for electric vehicle components, including chassis, batteries, motors, and software. This self-reliant approach has uniquely positioned the company within the Indian electric vehicle sector. The recent funding will be used to establish a new manufacturing facility, enhance production capabilities, expand the company's sales and service networks, and invest in research and development for future product cycles.

Currently, Simple Energy operates with a production capacity of 10,000 units per month and has established more than 80 outlets in over 60 cities, including major hubs such as Bengaluru, Delhi, Patna, Hyderabad, and Chennai. In the past year, the company has reported a remarkable increase in monthly sales, growing more than four times. Additionally, Simple Energy has introduced two new electric two-wheeler models, the Simple Wave and Simple Ultra, in the last eight months, further diversifying its product portfolio.

This funding round follows a previous raise in June 2026, during which the company secured ₹250 crore through a combination of debt and equity, also led by the Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani Family Office. This ongoing financial backing from early investors highlights their commitment to Simple Energy's growth trajectory and the company’s plans for future expansion. Dr. A. Velumani, a key investor and creator of Thyrocare, noted the rapid growth of Simple Energy, citing a fourfold increase in sales over the past year as indicative of both the company’s and the broader electric vehicle industry’s momentum.

He emphasized the rarity of Simple Energy’s end-to-end technology ownership in the Indian electric vehicle vertical, which encompasses chassis, battery, motor, and software development. Looking ahead, Simple Energy aims to scale its manufacturing, marketing, and retail networks, positioning itself among the top three players in the electric two-wheeler market in India within the next three years. As the company continues to expand its operations and product offerings, it is well-positioned to leverage the growing demand for electric vehicles, particularly as consumers and businesses seek more sustainable alternatives to fossil fuel-powered transportation.

Upcoming milestones include the launch of new products and the establishment of additional manufacturing facilities, both critical to meeting increasing market demand. The successful completion of this funding round not only strengthens Simple Energy’s financial foundation but also enhances its competitive edge in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle landscape.
