Youth Olympic Flame arrives in Africa for Dakar 2026

The Youth Olympic flame reached Senegal on 12 September 2026, marking its historic arrival on the African continent. Lit in Athens on 10 September, the flame was greeted by a procession of 100 women known as the Linguères, who performed traditional ceremonies to mark the occasion.
