On November 2, 2026, JBCN International School, Borivali, celebrated the successful conclusion of the Global Young Innovators Challenge 2026, an entrepreneurship competition that brought together over 700 students from 42 schools across India and abroad. This initiative aimed to foster innovation and entrepreneurial skills among students in Grades 9 to 12. Participants were encouraged to identify real-world problems and develop sustainable solutions, gaining valuable experience in idea development, problem-solving, and presentation skills. The competition was structured in two stages, beginning with written submissions of ideas, followed by live virtual pitches to a panel of judges. Teams of three to four students collaborated on problem statements and presented their innovative solutions in a format reminiscent of early-stage start-up pitches. This approach not only showcased students' creativity but also highlighted the importance of collaboration and teamwork in entrepreneurship.

The initiative received support from the SP Jain School of Global Management, which provided masterclasses and judging assistance throughout the competition. Project Zenitech from Reliance Foundation School emerged as the winner, earning a fully funded place at the SP Jain Singapore Summer School, which includes programme fees and accommodation valued at SGD 3,200. The first runner-up was Project Sustain X from MVN School, while Project Change Trinity from JBCN International School secured the second runner-up spot, with both receiving full fee waivers for the SP Jain Mumbai Summer School Programme. The recognition of these projects underscores the innovative spirit and potential of young learners in addressing contemporary challenges.

Debika Chatterjee, Director Principal of JBCN International School, noted that the challenge aligns with the school's philosophy of cultivating entrepreneurship as a mindset. Students were encouraged to transform real-world challenges into sustainable and future-ready solutions. The event reflects a growing emphasis on experiential learning in schools, moving beyond traditional classroom theory to provide students with practical skills essential in today’s world. The competition showcased the creativity and problem-solving abilities of students, reinforcing the significance of entrepreneurship education in shaping future leaders.

As schools increasingly shift towards innovation-led learning, initiatives like the Global Young Innovators Challenge are crucial in preparing students for the complexities of the modern world. The participation of a diverse range of schools indicates a rising interest in entrepreneurship education and its potential impact on student development. Looking ahead, such competitions are expected to continue fostering creativity and collaboration among young innovators, ultimately contributing to a more entrepreneurial mindset in the education system.
