Juniper Green Energy commissions 75 MW wind-solar hybrid in Maharashtra
Juniper Green Energy's subsidiary has completed a 75 MW wind-solar hybrid power project in Maharashtra, enhancing its operational capacity significantly.

Juniper Green Energy Limited, operating through its subsidiary Juniper Green Spark Ten Private Limited, has reached full commissioning on its 75 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Maharashtra. The final 10 MW of wind capacity went live on September 9, 2026, in a process witnessed and confirmed by officials from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). This addition strengthens Juniper’s regional footprint and expands its operational reach within the local renewable energy sector.
This milestone brings Juniper Green Energy’s total operational capacity to approximately 2,604 MWp, alongside around 500 MWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). While the wind component is the latest to arrive, the solar portion of the hybrid facility was completed ahead of schedule in June 2025. By beating the original commercial operation date, the company was able to secure government incentives that bolstered the project’s overall economic viability.
Development of the facility followed a power purchase agreement (PPA) signed with MSEDCL on November 18, 2024. By pairing wind and solar resources, the site is designed to maintain steady energy generation even as weather conditions fluctuate, as the two technologies often complement one another. This integrated approach reflects a broader effort to meet India’s rising demand for clean energy through sophisticated technical solutions.
Beyond the immediate power output, the project offers broader environmental and economic advantages for Maharashtra. Combining these two energy sources aids in diversifying the local grid and lowering greenhouse gas emissions, supporting India’s national sustainability targets. The facility is expected to become a key component in securing the region's energy supply and meeting local consumption needs.
The completion of the 75 MW project serves as a model for future renewable energy developments in the state. It highlights the role of public-private collaboration in the sector and demonstrates how hybrid technology can be scaled effectively.
